Henry’s Bin (Short Film)

Role: Producer, Story By
Date: September 26–28, 2025
Festival: AGBO “No Sleep ’Til Film Fest” — 48-Hour International Film Competition

Logline: Henry's been living in the same bedroom for as long as he can remember. So has his trash bin. What has it been seeing over the years?

Description:

Created for the Russo Brothers’ AGBO No Sleep ’Til Film Fest 2025, Henry’s Bin was conceived, developed, shot, and delivered within the festival’s strict 48-hour production window (September 26–28, 5 PM–5 PM). Responding to the assigned prompt “Perspective,” the team crafted a narrative told entirely through the POV of Henry’s trash bin—using discarded objects to reveal the emotional milestones of his life.

Through this fixed, low-angle perspective, the film traces Henry’s evolution from childhood to early adulthood: friendships and heartbreak, family tension, depressive lows, and the gradual rediscovery of himself through music and DJing. His father, Jon, serves as the central supporting character, grounding the emotional arc with a complex, intimate father–son dynamic.

Mars served as Producer and Story By, contributing extensively to story development, character shaping, and emotional structuring. She co-led early writing sessions, helped define the film’s thematic spine, and contributed key scene ideas that expanded the narrative beyond a static POV constraint. She also assembled and secured the majority of the cast and crew within 24 hours prior to production, coordinated scheduling, and helped maintain continuity, pacing, and performance cohesion on set. Mars additionally coached actors in emotional tone and scene intention, supporting the director in guiding performance rhythm and consistency under the rapid-turnaround conditions.

Despite the extreme timeline, Henry’s Bin reflects a strong collaborative process and the team’s ability to produce a coherent, stylistically unique short film under compressed, high-pressure creative constraints.
